Nightmare Server Crash has a Silver Lining - Dallas Medical Clinic

Client Background:

In the world of healthcare technology, challenges are inevitable. But it’s how we respond to these challenges that truly defines our resilience and innovation. Back in 2022, the Dallas Medical Clinic faced what many would consider a disaster—a server crash that threatened to disrupt their operations. Yet working with us at Houston Technology meant the issue was solved quickly and taught the clinic a valuable lesson in IT.

The server crash at the Dallas Clinic was a wake-up call, highlighting the vulnerabilities in IT infrastructure. It was a moment that tested the team’s resolve, pushing them to find immediate solutions to maintain their critical services.

Dallas Clinic had recently switched to Houston Technology as their IT provider. After they discovered their server had failed they contacted us immediately.

Dr Roger Smith stated that ‘they [Houston Technology] arrived fast to work across the weekend to get the clinic back up and running so it could open on Monday Morning’.

Total recovery of the lost data took a total of 3 weeks of contacting patients to be fully back up and running. After this, the clinic learnt that when advice is provided to get a new server or upgrade the system don’t delay it. After the server crashed, Dallas Clinic took the steps with Houston Technology to resurrect their system to keep them going and then we built a completely new system for them. This system has multiple backups one in the cloud and two other different systems so the clinic is covered.

“What we have now is newer, faster, much better than anything we’ve had before. We’re pleased with it.”
